We’re Ewa and Meggie- mom and daughter from Athens, Greece, dedicated to helping people eat better and healthier on daily basis, with simple, uncomplicated and delicious longevity recipes we create from scratch for you!
Since we can remember, our mom & daughter quality time revolved around cooking. And this is the case until today. Regardless how busy we can be at times we always find time to prepare something delicious and healthy and eat it together at home. We love spending time together, and cooking is our main highlight.
At some point, we realized that we had developed plenty of our own, home recipes that we would like to share with the world. And most importantly, we realized that our way of eating is in line with the guidelines of the IKARIAN and BLUE ZONE DIET.
This is how in 2020 we launched our YouTube channel called ”the Mediterranean Kitchenette”, where we started sharing our home recipes. After a while, our viewers started asking where they can find our written recipes, and this led to the creation of this blog. Here, we show you how to make the most of simple, accessible ingredients to prepare easy, affordable healthy food the Mediterranean way!
We consider each meal a chance to fill our body with beneficial ingredients. Our dishes are full of greens, vegetables and spices typical of our region. Olive oil, legumes and vegetables is the basis of our cooking. We cook plant-based food and although we love cooking, we don’t want to spend endless hours in the kitchen. That’s why our recipes are always SIMPLE, EASY TO FOLLOW, UNCOMPLICATED AND DELICIOUS, and filled with practical tips.
We use basic, simple ingredients and create endless combinations based on the Ikarian diet, Mediterranean diet and the Blue Zone Diet principles.
